Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé de conduite de l'affinage de l'acier. Ce procédé est caractérisé en ce que de l'oxygène de soufflage est insufflé en vue de l'obtention de la teneur en FeO du laitier, la teneur en FeO requise étant fixée à un taux plus élevé que celui résultant de l'établissement d'un équilibre entre les teneurs en P ou Mn du bain et celles du laitier, que l'on introduit de la chaux, en une quantité qui correspond à la teneur en CaO, dans le système quasi-ternaire (CaO)'-(FeO)'-(SiO2 )', de la saturation en chaux ou en silicate dicalcique à la température finale du bain, compte tenu de la teneur en FeO et de la quantité de SiO2 escomptée à partir de la quantité de Si présente dans la charge, la basicité du laitier étant maintenue au-dessus de 2,8, la quantité de laitier étant fixée à au moins 50 kg/tonne de fonte, la teneur en Mn de l'acier brut étant maintenue à au moins 20 % en poids et celle du P à 0,03 % en poids au plus, la température finale requise étant réglée par ajustement des quantités d'agents refroidissants et la quantité d'acier nécessaire l'étant par ajustement de la quantité de fonte Application à l'affinage de l'acier.
