Abstract

L'invention décrit un perfectionnement apporté à la dernière phase du séchage global d'un polymère et notamment d'un élastomère. On injecte du gaz dans la zone de compression d'une extrudeuse, ce qui ameliore l'efficacité du procédé de séchage avec extrusion et explosion des particules. On produit des particules d'un caoutchouc à très faible teneur en humidité (moins de 0,2% en poids et fréquemment moins de 0,1% en poids). Le procédé peut s'appliquer à divers élastomères (caoutchouc butyle, caoutchouc butyle halogéné, EPDM, polyisobutylène, etc.).
