Abstract

The silo has four support legs (14) space by four cross beams (15) which are pivoted at both ends and in the middle. This allows the legs to be folded up for transportation by road on a trailer. The trailer (12) has an hydraulic pump which operates two sets of jacks (18, 20). One set determines the spacing of the legs whilst the other set raises and lowers the silo from a vertical, erected position to a staved, horizontal position on the trailer or vice verse. This set acts between the trailer and gussets (22) attached to one pair of silo legs which are also pivoted about axles (19) on the trailer.
