A two-level storage apparatus for vehicles, boats or other apparatus comprises upper and lower platforms 10, 17 pivoted on a base at 12, 18 respectively and connected by a lostmotion linkage 21. From the full line position in which the platform 10 can be loaded rams 20 can first raise the platform 10 to straighten the linkage and then raise it and the free end 19 of the platform 17 to the broken line lower platform loading position. Alternatively a screw and nut mechanism may replace the rams 20 and the linkage 21 may be replaced by chains.
