Abstract

A self-contained, automatic oven partic, for mounting in a light vehicle for the instant cooking and roadside service of pizza etc. The uncooked prod. is placed on a conveyor which arries it thro. a tunnel oven with a heaters under the conveyor band. Partway through the tunnel, the prod. passes beneath a suspended partition which divides the tunnel into two zones operating at different cookings temps. The inside of the tunnel has a reflective, metal surface and the outside is thermally insulated. Each cooking zone should have is own exhaust chimney with adjustable damper and a telescopic extension sleeve on is lower end. Used for fitting in a light, road vehicle to provide a mobile barkery from which freshly cooked snacks, esp. pizza, can be served. The operator is protected from the danger of burns and the discomfort of open heaters in a confined space. He is also relieved of the task of constant surveillance of the prod. as it cooks. Cooking is rapid and homogeneous. Heat losses are minimised.
