Abstract

The closing mechanism for windows and doors has rods moving in opposite directions. These rods are connected to toothed racks sliding in a driving housing. Each rack is engaged with one gear of a gear wheel pair, one of the gears being actuated by a handle. The handle actuated gear wheel (9) drives pinion (16) held eccentrically on its shaft (13). The driven pinion (10) is arranged above the plane which contacts the teeth tops of the rack engaged with the driving gear (9). This pinion drives teeth which are on a higher level than those in the first rack.
