Abstract

The suspended conveyor mechanism has trollies on wheels whose movement along the rail track is driven, e.g. by a chain via a claw when this is in the 'drive' position, the claw being uncoupled via levers carrying a roller when the latter meets an obstacle. The trolley has a uni-directionally rotatable brake roller which is in constant engagement with a stationary surface, the arrangement being such that the trolley can freely move forward, but is prevented from moving backwards, thus preventing rebound when the forward motion is stopped. The brake roller may contain a ratchet coupling and may be spring-loaded against the surface.
