Abstract

An instantenous water heater has a heating chamber (1) heated by gas, with the water tube (3) passing through it. This tube is a double tube, the inner tube (5) being of copper, and carrying the water connections (11). The outer tube (4) is of aluminium with heat exchange fins (15) welded along it. The walls of the chamber are also welded to the outer tube, and these welds (13) and the welds (14) for the fins are carried out at the same temperature. The welds (12) for the fitting (11) on the end of the inner tube are carried out at approx. this temp.
