Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform uniform annealing without causing annealing irregularities by putting the heat exchanger tubes to be annealed into a heat insulating room, supplying the superheated steam of controlled temp. through one of the heat exchanger tube ports and discharging the same through the other.
CONSTITUTION: The steam generated in a boiler 1 is fed through a conduit 2 to a heater 3, by which it is heated up to annealing temp. Thence, the steam is conducted to an inlet header 4 of a heat exchanger tube 5 put in a heat insulating chamber R, it is then conducted to the tube 5. Then, the annealing of the welded parts and bends of the heat exchanger shown by 6 is accomplished. In this case, the tube 5 is applied thoroughly with heat insulation 7 over the entire surface. Thereby, the annealing temp. is attained over the entire part of the chamber R and the occurrence of annealing irregularities is obviated.
