Abstract

The joining member has a central portion in the form of a square box section (10). One or more faces of the box section may be provided with two parallel spring fingers (12) with curved ends. These curved ends facilitate the insertion of the fingers into a square section tube. The members (40) are preferably made of aluminium but may also be made of steel, copper, plastic or fibreglass. The invention is not restricted to tubes of square cross section but may be applied to round or triangular tubes, in which case the form of the spring or fingers must be adapted to suit the tube shape.
