Abstract

A vehicle headlamp, fitted with a twin filament bulb (1) employs a remote controlled anti-dazzle device. The front filament (4) has a conventional fixed screen (5) mounted underneath, inside the bulb, which does not completely reduce dazzle. In front of this is another screen (6) mounted on a rod (7) which passes through the reflector (3) to project from its rear. This screen completely encloses the bulb when pulled rearwards, except for a cut-away portion at the top. The rod passes through a bush (8) on the outside of the reflector, for support, and is remote controlled. The movable screen (6) has ventilation slots (9) across its lower part.
