Abstract

A supply circuit provides a coherent or phase correct supply for a given sector of a network, e.g. as required by a linear motor. The circuit can supply several loads, normally windings. A variation on the basic circuit has two synchronising arrangements supplying the two windings of the motor via two triacs. The circuit consists of a pulse generator (10) fed from the sector ac supply (12). This provides an output pulse (14) for each half cycle of supply (11) to a divider (16) and a synchroniser (20). The triac is controlled at its gate (24) and is in series with the motor windings (28) both triac and winding being in parallel with the sector supply.
