Abstract

The freezer (1) has two separate compartments, each at a different temperature. The upper compartment (6), accessible from a top-opening flap (2), makes ice or retains ice-cream ready for use. The lower compartment, accessible from a front-opening door, stores these products. The compartments are separated by an air space (7), between the bottom of the upper compartment and the top (9) of the lower compartment. Air is drawn through by a rear fan (11, 12). The air separates, one flow (66) passing upwards over a freezer coil (16) and the other downwards over another coil. Both coils are fed in series from a common unit. The two air currents re-unite at the front.
