Abstract

The water level in the drinking trough is regulated by a float-valve (19) mounted on the water-inflow pipe and incorporating a heater (18) for keeping the water at the required temperature. The heater is separated from the trough by a partition (17). The pipe (21) supplying the trough with water passing through the heated compartment. The partition is a movable fitting and which divides off a space between the bottom of the heater-tank and the bottom of the trough, which is not accessible to the cattle. The movable fitting consists of a perforated plate, and does not touch the inside of the heater-tank continuously. The fitting has cut-out side-sections and rests on supports.
