Abstract
1375727 Sauna bath BAHCO VENTILATION AB 2 Nov 1971 [3 Nov 1970] 50946/71 Heading A4N [Also in Division F4] An electrical heating unit for a sauna bath comprises a thermostatically controlled electrical heat source 2, a heat accumulator 3, and an open water container 7 in contact with the heat accumulator. A casing 1 surrounds the heat accumulator which comprises a stone magazine held in a container 5, around which heating elements 2 are located. A water container 7, which may be adjustably mounted with respect to the sides of the container 5 by means of pins 8 and guide rods 9, is preferably partially submerged in the stone magazine. Above the stones and the water container a perforated plate 4 is located so that water poured on to the plate is distributed over the stones as well as replenishing the water vapourizing from the water container during operation of the unit which provides the necessary humidity for the sauna bath. The water container, which may be made of heat-insulating material, is positioned in the unit where the transfer of heat from the elements allows the water to boil before the sauna bath reaches the thermostatically-set temperature.
