Abstract
The automatic circuit breaker serves as a tube to protect a low voltage circuit. The device comprises a box with a central opening (11) and two side openings (e.g. 15) which contain terminals (82) with clamping screws (83) to receive the two conductors. Contacts extend from these two sides to the central area where there are two horizontally disposed contact points (8). These face contacts (60) on the vertically movable switch element. A bimetal strip (7) mounted on the switch element responds to an excessive current, and is deformed, releasing the switch element under spring action and separating the contacts. The circuit breaker may be subsequently reset by the manual control (3).
