Abstract

The differential interrupter has a multipole contact-breaker and a differential unit. The differential unit is coupled to the breaker such that a difference in current releases a device to open the contacts. The unit has a differential transformer which supplies a relay releasing the contacts. The interrupter also has a device for producing an artificial differential current by closing a microswitch (48) and introducing a shunt resistor (56). This device is connected to the differential unit which can release the breaker. This device can be remotely controlled. The microswitch (48) can also be actuated by fuses (26) with plunger action.
