Abstract

The prestressed cable termination secures a concrete mass to a rock and is filled with cement grout to prevent corrosion. It has a fibro-cement tube, embedded in the mass, enclosing the cable inside a plastic sheath. A perforated plate holds the cable end inside a protective cover. Grout is pressure pumped down a tube inside the sheath, filling the latter and passing into the cover. It passes upwards into a separate header until ejected through an orifice. This is closed and pumping continued to consolidate the mix, water passing through a filter. After setting, the header is removed for re-use.
