Abstract

The jet has a body (1) which screws into the carburetter. It contains a cylinder (2) with passages (1a) for entry of fuel and an orifice (5) in the end forming the slow running jet. Within the upper part of the cylinder there is a piston (6) with a needle (7) screwed into the projecting from it. The end of the needle forms a valve in the jet orifice (5). A compression spring (9) in the cylinder below the piston tends to push the piston and needle up. When the engine is running slowly the spring opens the valve. At full load when the slow running jet is not needed the suction due to the engine speed pulls the piston down against the spring and closes the jet.
