Abstract

Aminoethers of formula (I) R-(OCHX.CHYen)-2NH are new. R=opt. unsatd. 9-24C alkyl, cyclohexyl, or opt. alkyl-substd. aryl. X and Y=H or CH3, but not both CH3. n=1-15, or, when R = phenyl or tolyl, 2-15. Pref. cpds. have R = naphthyl, opt.substd. by 1-3 1-9C alkyl; phenyl substd. by 1-3 2-9C alkyl or 9-22C satd. alkyl; X=Y=H; and m=1-10 when R=alkyl. hey are prepd. by reacting R(OCHX.CHY)nOH with NH3 and H2 in presence of hydrogenation-dehydrogenation catalysts. (I) are intermediates for surfactants and for corresp. acetates which are useful as stiffeners for synthetic fibres. They are prepd. very pure and in high yields.
