Abstract

The hood is portable and is used to evacuate fumes arising when working. Its body (1) is a metal and has a front panel (2) provided with large holes and backed by a suitable filter. Behind this is a fan which exhausts the fumes directly at the rear, or through a duct. A front flap (11) can hinge down (12) to form a working surface. A larger flap (5) can also hinge upwards, its sides (6, 16) being folded down to form a fume collector. The front (7) of this has a transparent viewing panel (8) and a light may be fitted. Thumbscrews (10) permit this to be tightened into position.
