Abstract

The cleaning pad is shaped like a mitten it may be used for domestic purposes and is worn on the hand and thus protects the hand. The mitten can have one or two thumbs (2) and be externally lined with abrasive or other material with a cleaning function. Alternatively one major face only of the mitten may comprise an abrasive surface with the other face maybe covered with sponge, chamois leather, buffing cloth, or synthetic bristles. In this case the mitten has a thumb on each flank and may be worn with either face oriented with the palm of the wearer's hand. As a further alternative the abrasive etc. faces can be provided in the form of interchangeable overlay mittens which fit over a primary mitten. The mitten may have an extended cuff and the overlay is fastened at the mitten to cuff joint.
