Abstract

Metallic elements are heated, esp. the rims on the end of pipes, using >=1 burner flame which is mobile w.r.t. the element. The burner is pref. in constant and continuous rotation, esp. on the inside of the pipes. Pref. the device consists of an assembly contg. >=1 burner, esp. a carrousel fitted with a fuel supply pipe with a rotating head provided with radial arms on which burners are mounted so they are tangential w.r.t. the bore of the pipe being heated. The carrousel pref. consists of two lower arms provided with wedges located on the outside of the pipe, and two upper arms fitted with locking bolts or magnets in contact with the outside of the pipe. The burner is pref. that described in FR.70/16090 and is located in a cup provided with air inlets in its base. Provides rapid rotation of burners shielded from the wind.
