Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent cracking and destruction due to it, by heating the circumference of the side end of an exhaust pipe, where strain is easy to occur during the curving of a bulb, by using a heating means such as a gas burner. CONSTITUTION:In curving a bulb 3, high-temperature air 12 obtained by a heating device is blown to the side end of the exhaust pipe 4 of the bulb 3 and at the same time, the other end is chucked on a curving roller 6 to wind the bulb in an annular shape. On the completion of the curving, blowing of the high-temperature air 12 is stopped and the bulb 3 is cooled to harden. In this way, the bulb 3, while kept softened from the beginning to the end of curving, is curved, so strain is hard to occur preventing cracking and destruction even when the sealing part of the bulb is of a glass-molding type which does not use a metal disk.
