Abstract

The mechanism may comprise a screw impeller carried on an horizontal or inclined shaft with the generator arranged immediately behind the screw or at the end of an intermediate drive, the entire assembly being supported on a frame. The impeller may, alternatively, be carried on a vertical shaft and be contained in a rotatable housing with lateral opening for entry of air and provided with a wind vane for correct alignment, whilst an outlet opening may be provided in the bottom adjacent to the inlet. The generator may be an alternator as used in motor vehicles.
