Abstract

The gear-type pump has driving and driven gears on parallel spindles in bearings in a housing with top and bottom cylindrical-section walls fitting very closely against the gear teeth. Front and rear walls have inlet and discharge unions. Any wear is taken up by a component (20) fitted between the front wall and the gears and bearings (3,4). The component has a front surface bearing against the front wall and rear surfaces (23,24) forming cylindrical extensions of the top and bottom walls (11,13). There is a central opening (25) in this piece, whose section increases towards the front surface (21), and which leads to the discharge union (26).
