Abstract

A control unit for time division digital systems is used to switch synchronous data. The data is given by various outputs from time multiplexing. The system network comprises the control unit. It has a two stage multiplexer which transforms the input data into a single line data of 2048 megabits per second. There is also a digital switch unit comprising a channel address calculator, a memory and a logic unit. An alignment unit is used to reconstitute data from the multiplexed signal. An identification memory is used to provide control instructions. The control unit has two processors. A synchronous preprocessor is used to operate like a decision table. The preprocessor has addresses representing the status of the channels, words for future status of the channels, and the address of an instruction in the microprocessor.
