Abstract

The modular construction element consists of a round bar which is provided with four equally spaced longitudinal grooves (3a-6a) of rectangular cross section. Side panels (9a-9d) which may be of glass are fitted into grooves (4a, 5a) with packing strips (13a, 14a) so that the outer surface of the panel lies on the centre line of the bar. A top panel also of glass, is located by a corner plate (12a) and secured by a knob with a stud which screws into the tapped hole (10a) in the bar. A similar knob is fixed underneath the bar to form a foot.
