Abstract
The non-return valve has a closure member (4) made of resiliently deformable plastics. A spring (5) urges the closure member into engagement with a conical seat (9). When free the closure member is cylindrical and its edge adjacent the seat is deformed by the latter under the pressure of the spring. The deformation is limited by a conical stop (11), pref. of metallic matl., mounted on the end of the closure member and engageable with the seat after a certain amount of wear of the resilient closure member. The cone angle of the stop is pref. slightly less than that of the seat.
