Abstract

The combined anti-theft ignition lock (5) is housed in a casing (2) which is rigidly fixed to a collar (3), in turn mounted to the steering column by a corresponding collar (4). The barrel lock mechanism (5) is operated by a removable key (6) and also acts on a small sprung plate (13). The plate engages in a notch in a peg (7) which slides between the casing and the collar and provides a steering lock which can only be released by the correct key. A plate (8) attached to the lock depresses the peg as the lock rotates.
