Abstract
The anti-theft lock is normally fitted as part of or close to the steering column. The locking mechanism holds an anti-theft bolt in position as long as the key is in position. The lock has a stator in which rotates a barrel between the STOP and START positions, the key being removable up to this last position. The stator carries towards its rear the locking bolt which is held in one position by a spring and in its second by a cam. The bolt has a winged tail which engages with a slot in the rotor which itself opens into the key slot. The key engages a shoe which moves across a rotatable pin.
