Abstract

An anti theft device for cars is key operated and it has a housing (1) fixed to the steering column by a semicylindrical opening (2). The housing has a cylindrical opening (3) in which is housed an assembly (5) of rotating parts, operated by a key (6). The stationary part of this assembly is in three parts, consisting of a flexible ring with two wing pieces which engage in openings in the housing (1). The rotary part has a number of plates which can be locked in circular grooves inside the stationary part. This locks the steering column and at the same time, can isolate the engine ignition circuit.
