[Also in Division E2] The body 4 of a locking mechanism for a steering column 9, 10 is secured against unauthorized removal from its mounting sleeve 1 by means of a bolt 13 projecting outwardly into a hole 2 in the mounting sleeve. This bolt is prevented from inward movement, to allow the body to slide out, by the steering-locking bolt 6 which has a groove 7 to permit permitting inward movement of bolt 13 only in the releasing position, i.e. when the steering is unlocked by an authorized key. A spring 12 biases the bolt 13 outwardly into the engaged position.
