Abstract

The antitheft car ignition lock has a cylindrical stainless steel casing (1) fixed to the steering column by a side bolt (2). The head of the casing houses a cylindrical barrel lock operated by a flat key (21). The lock slides into the casing against the pressure of a helical spring (30) and a sliding and rotating piece (19) comes into contact with two electrical connections (31, 32). A sliding tang (13) is joined to a bent spring metal piece (12) and engages to lock the steering column. A laterally sliding sprung peg (37) returns the key from the start position when the key is released.
