Abstract

The steering wheeling lock has a separative barrel (5) and locking bolt which are coupled together by an elastic dovetail catch (3). The barrel incorporates a cam which moves the catch axially when the key is turned. A safety catch prevents the bolt from operating until the key is fully withdrawn. If the key mechanism is damaged then it only requires to break out the barrel and replace it. The locking bolt and control cam remain as a strong fixture.
