Abstract

The h. v. windings of the transformer coil are wound in concentric layers with the same pitch, with the start of a higher layer connected by a reverse wire to the end of the layer below it. A further insulation layer is provided between winding layers (A-B, C-D) in addition to the usual insulating layer. The relatively thin insulating layers (E1, E2) are separated by an air-gap, with the opposite winding ends (B, C) connected by a few turns of reverse wire (F) between the insulating layers (E1, E2).
