Abstract

In a mortar bomb or grenade having a fighting explosive charge in the grenade body as well as a tail pipe for the reception of the propellant charges and an ignition device, a target homing system is provided on the nose of the grenade which operates a pivotable tail fin mounted on the tail pipe via a tuner in the body of the grenade, an energy block and a central unit. The grenade pref. contains a hollow charge with a shrapnel-forming envelope. The grenade has a high initial target hitting probability so that it posseses an enhanced effectiveness.
