Abstract

The base (2) of the vice carries the moving jaw (6) which has a central recess for the operating cam (8) which has a handle used to rotate it about an eccentric pivot (11) extending through a slot in the base (2) and into a slide (12) movable along a track (5) under the base. Surrounding the pivot is a bush (10) seated on a flat washer (19) and a grub screw (18) in the side of the cam acts as a brake. The head (13) of the pivot is hexagonal and is locked to the cam by a plate (20) which has a hexagonal hole receiving the head (13) and which is secured to the cam by a screw (22).
