Abstract
The heat exchanger recovers solar energy by heating water or other liquid, and comprises a panel, with multiple flow passages, between manifolds along two opposite sides. Each manifold comprises a section of tube (12), of diameter greater than the thickness of the panel (1) and having a continuous lengthwise slot (7) whose edges bear against opposite panel sides. A sealed join is formed between edges and panel by glueing, welding etc. Tubular connection sockets (13) or sealing sockets are fitted over the tube ends protruding beyond the panels. A compressible sealing joint can be fitted between the panel face and the edge bearing against it.
