Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the lowering of the efficiency of fins on heating surfaces by a design wherein the tubes are elliptically formed, and to fast mount the tubes simply by a mechanism wherein the inserting holes of fin plates are made larger than the diameters of the tubes and the tubes are expanded.
CONSTITUTION: Plate fins 2 to which elliptical holes 2a for inserting tubes 1 are installed are laminated, header plates 5 are arranged at the both sides of the plate fins 2, and the tubes 1 are inserted into elliptical holes 2a, 5a. The tubes 1 are expanded 1a, and the expanding portions 1b of the both end ports of the tubes and the elliptical holes 5a are glued with adhesives and sealed. Elastic seal materials 6 are put among plate fringe portions 5b and the end portions 3d of tanks 3, 4, and the opening end portions 3d are clamped, thus uniting the end portions in watertight manner.
