Abstract

The locking mechanism is particularly for car bonnets and has a locking bar (1) working in a fixed guide (8), with a stop (14) on the bar working with the guide. There is a control button on one end of the bar, and the other has a hook (4) engaging a locking tongue (5) of sheet metal fixed to the bonnet (6). This latter end also has an anchorage point for a tension spring (15), attached at the other end to the guide. The end of the bar nearest the button is guided between two pins (9, 11) mounted on the guide.
