Abstract

The hook (1) is made from thick sheet material and the spring (24) loaded closing link (2) is made of thinner material formed in a narrow U in cross section. The internal width of the U is slightly greater than the thickness of the hook so that when pivoted (3) on the hook, the latter can slide inside the U. At the end opposite the pivot, the base of the U is cut back to form two projections (25) which pass on either side of the hook and prevent the closing link being bent laterally, accidentally freeing the webbing or rope.
