Abstract

The element consists of a two part sleeve (6), in the interior of which are several hard spherical elements (5) which are compressed through the insulation of the cable (1) when pressure (P) is applied to the sleeve (6). The spherical elements may be made from hard insulating or conducting materials such as glass, steel, bronze or metal alloy. The clamp (6) would either be made of non-insulating or insulating material depending upon whether the elements (5) are conductive or insulating. The elements are regularly arranged around the cables and larger elements are used between adjacent cables.
