Abstract
The building allows the air inside to be constantly changed without using conventional power-driven ventilating systems. At the same time, however, the inside temp. is kept constant, and is particularly useful in warm climates. The building consists of vertical cavity walls and a sloping roof. The outer walls (2, 5) are made of a heat conducting material such as steel whereas the inner walls (3, 6) are heat insulating. To allow for intake of fresh air, openings covered by flaps (8) are provided at the base of the outer walls. When the outside temp. is high, the outer walls become warm, causing the air entering the cavity (4) to rise, carrying with it a layer of cold air near the inside wall. This enters the building through an opening at the top of the inside wall. An outlet for the warm air inside the building is provided at the roof apex.
