Abstract

An appts. for measuring the rate of change of power from a nuclear reactor incorporates alternative measuring systems, giving voltages controlled by a threshold circuit, a differential operational amplifier and two capacitors. One plate of each capacitor is connected to one of the voltages from the measuring systems. The other plates are connected to switches in such a way that either plate can be connected alternatively to a series resistor connected to the input of the electrometric amplifier or to a discharge resistor connected to zero potential. A signal can be obtd. characteristic of the period of the reactor. Discontinuity of the signal during switching of the measuring systems is avoided. Using an automatic switch simplifies use and prevents inaccuracies.
