Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize measurement for an excessive analog input, by giving compression to an excessive analog input signal with a certain ratio and then amplifying the input signal within a range of the maximum allowable input of an operational amplifier. CONSTITUTION:The output EO of an operational amplifier 1 is connected to the input to be compared of a comparator 3 and then compared with the comparison voltage -EC that is set at the output level of the amplifier 1 equivalent to the maximum allowable input voltage of a converter. On the other hand, a currenter 5 works until the output of the comparator 3 inverts and in the period during which the integrating time TS of the input voltage Ei elapses. When the comparator 3 inverts at the time of TS', the counter 5 stops its counting action. Thus a control circuit 5 opens a switch SW1 and at the same time latches the counting value of the counter 5 to a register 7 to supply a signal indicating an overflow of the voltage Ei to the register 7. Thus an excessive input is detected during a period of integration of the voltage Ei, and the pulse number is counted in proportion to the voltage Ei to obtain a digital output.
