Abstract

The plug insert (1) has an outside diameter smaller than the tube internal diameter. The insert has an internal thread (2) and is fitted with a thin sectioned portion (4) at the outer end. An anvil (7) which lies against the end of the tube, has a central hole to take a bolt (6). The bolt is screwed into the insert, and the insert and the anvil are pulled together. The assembly is located in the sleeve by the flange on the anvil. The thin cylindrical portion (4) is then deformed and locked against the inner surface of the tube. The bolt and anvil are removed so that a connector may be screwed into the insert.
