Abstract

The heater is in the form of a cylindrical tank which contains the fluid to be heated, and receives heat from the sun over its surface. The surface is made up of a number of sections. The outer surface is made from glass or polyester and encloses an evacuated space. A second screen separates the first from a second evacuated space. The surface of the cylinder is painted matt black. The screen which is made from insulating material covers the panels when there is no sun. This cover may be positioned automatically. The insulating layer covers the entire heater.
