Abstract

The wood turning lathe for multiple operations on the same workpiece has a platform mounted on slides, with a work holder having a block each end, between which the work is retained by centres, operated by a piston and cylinder. The platform is also moved by a parallel piston and cylinder. A third piston and cylinder at right angles to the other two, and mounted on the platform, pushes one end of the work holder towards a drive shaft parallel to and behind the axis of the work. The third cylinder pushes a selected cam on the work holder against a drive disc on the drive shaft and the latter also carries a cutting wheel.
