Abstract

The holder is intended for installing a double-glazed window on an existing single-glazed window frame and comprises a T-shaped section (19) and an angular section (9). The stem (1') of the T-section and the arms (9', 9") of the angular section are fitted with interlocking connecting elements (7, 8, 16, 17) which cooperate so that an arm of each of the two sections holds two panes (10, 11) firmly in place, when inserted in the T-section, separated by spacers (20). At the same time the other arms of the two sections come to rest against the two lateral surfaces of the window frame (18). The connecting elements may be hook-edged ribs, or U-shaped sections. The T-section may be shaped to accommodate an elastic support and/or sealing of the pane edges.
